The best laid plans
Even when you plan and plan, and you take the steps you know to be true, your body can defeat you. Ah yes, I know it’s cryptic. There is something I yearn to do and I’m working on it—but my body may have other plans.

Ahh building codes
Well, I certainly found a way to use the last hour… Perhaps it was not the best. Building codes. Those puppies are not the easiest to follow.
Minimum size for your house? I got minimums on basements, on wall heights, on how close a wall can be to a urinal. Yes… I think you see.

Yes, I am looking into building a small house - one that is the right size for me plus one. I’d also like my utilities to approximate what they were in Portland (July - Dec 2010) … What I saw made me really rethink GVEA/GHU… and my use. Sure things cost more in Alaska. That makes sense. Right?

Can you believe it? Both of these words in one sentence (almost before 9am) from one participant in iTeach. What a blast! Still drinking from the fire hose. I love being here. What I do not love is my upstairs neighbor’s teenage son playing video games at 11pm at night when I have to be at work at 7:15am. Yup. I said it.

What happened to Monday?

It's official!
One less house (duplex) … two fewer tenants! Yay! This is less income, but it is less bills too. All for the good. Congrats to Sara - she’s a new home owner (I sold to one of my tenants.)

You can’t unwatch it. (Futurama) Right! And banging your head against the wall until you forget it is not a great choice either. While I am not a big Futurama fan, I do know the wisdom to ‘be careful where you click.’ Time to get back to figuring out where/how/when and then sleep!

Health care!
Today (6/1) I have health care coverage. What? When AOOS DM @ UAF closed down last year I lost my benefits. (10/1/2010) Now, eight months later, I have health care again.
This has been an interesting road.
