Relaxation
“King of the Lab!” Yesterday I thrust my fists in the air in a victory “V” after having something work especially well. I told Casey about it and she said I should have taken a victory lap.
I like this place (CDE).
Later yesterday I heard that the work the plumber did was, well, not working.
Today, today is a rest day. I’ll read, surf the web, consider redoing my...

Organizing made easy
Yeah, right.
I never was very organized as a child (so I am told…) I don’t remember. I do know, however, that now I am more organized than most of the folks I know. Wait! That’s probably not true now that I’ve joined a new team.
These folks joke about having OCD. I feel right at home.
I’m looking for how to do less and less all the time. (I used to have five...
Not made of money
I made a mistake of paying the plumber with a check right when he did the work. Now they think I’m made of money *and* they are planning all sorts of things to do TO and FOR me. ARGH!

Strip away the excess
I’m entering into a new phase whereby I’m applying “Spring Cleaning” to my life. Sounds strange especially as I have just taken a new job that is going to be PACKED FULL of educational moments.
Of course I live for those moments.
So my brain will be on fire, but hopefully my checkbook won’t.
I’m going to sell an extra house.
“What? You have an extra...
Yesterday's words
I started a new job yesterday. In addition to new systems, new desk, new chair, new lights (too much light), new co-workers… there is new verbiage. I like it.
I made a short list: pedagogy, asynchronous, rubric.
Trying to use my Toastmaster skills I don’t just listen to questions and commentary for how I can help or what my task is supposed to be. However, it can be hard when...
Kate's current reading →
A girlfriend, Kate, upon hearing about my new job … and assigned (happily received) reading … mentioned she’s reading “Presentation Zen.”
